I’m just getting back to Houston from a very short hop to Dallas for a couple days. It’s funny that this is one of the shortest flights I take, but the trip is usually so draining, compared to Toronto or Cancun or someplace far. I guess it may something to do with being up for almost the duration of the trek too though. I want to say what’s up to Bee from D-Town Entertainment. Thanks for bringing us up, and I’m looking forward to setting everything off just as planned. I also want to shout out Cherokee from www.cherokeedass.com(a BUNCH a y’all ALREADY know who the @#$@@!! Cherokee is….), Gorilla Zoe from Block Entertainment and everybody else who came through Platinum II last night. Y’all need a real DJ in that club, but the venue is SWEET. Dallas has some star power, just in case y’all didn’t know. Get ready, you’re about to see some things that you’ve never seen before. YOU KNOW HOW I DO.
I’m feeling a little rested now, but the mission continues whether there is rest or not. We have a 5th consecutive calendar in full scale production right now, and on top of that, we’re dropping all sorts of bombs with other projects, so there is literally no rest for the weary. It’s the job though, and despite what all comes along with it to make me “SMH” (Shake My Head…..thanks Miss Berry), I couldn’t see life any other way right now. A significant part of my day is consumed with touching the pulse of the consumer, and I think I’ve pretty much got my finger on it this year, and the display we’re putting together for your viewing pleasure going into 2009 is very stimulating across the board. Did I mention that there’s a magazine coming too…….? Yeah, I know I did, I just wanted to do it again. Shameless, I know, but I OWN this site, Myspace can’t take it down, so I do what I do here without concern of any sort of business jeopardy.
Back to the calendar search - let me just say this: There are currently 3 girls that are going into the new issue that are just absolutely going to set the whole joint off. We’re paying close attention to what the public is demanding………we’ll show you what we mean.
Friday June 13, 2008 (Yes, it’s Friday the 13th you Superstitious Freaks!)
So I’m watching the Lakers just fall all to pieces tonight, and although I’m a Kobe Bryant fan (shut up already, I RELATE to this brother - more of that to come later) , I have to give it up to the Celtics and the Three Amigos. They are living up to the expectations from the trade that brought them together, and Doc Rivers is an excellent candidate to lead them. I missed three quarters of the game, and to find out that the Lakers dropped a 24 point lead was just another affirmation that the Celtics are not to be denied. The boy James Posey did damage tonight coming off the bench too - I gotta dap up the homie. One more Celtic win and the writing’s on the wall. What does this have to do with SummerBunnies you ask? Well, nothing really….BUT I can always MAKE it something about something. Watch this:
It takes a special cohesiveness (bonding) to build a winning team. It seldom works when you’ve got the one player franchise who is tasked with putting on the cape and saving the entire organization. Jordan was as close as it will come to a one man show. He carried the Bulls for quite some time before he began to get quality around him. We’re in a serious transition mode right now. You don’t really see a lot of SummerBunnies content in a lot of places like you used to. We’re not even on a lot of the sites that we used to be on……………… although some of that is totally involuntary, I’d still like to thank the jackasses who keep trying to stop the shine. I’ve got news for you though: Then, now and for as long as I ride - the shine will NEVER stop. We’re in formulary stages of something similar to a “Big Three” ourselves. Just commit it to memory and when it all unfolds, remember I told you so. It’s not what you’re probably thinking either. I love to go against the grain, so you know it’s going to be something different.
I wanted to again thank Blackout Entertainment (wassup Gary?) for bringing SummerBunnies to Hollywood, and we’re bringing it back in July. We’ll also be doing it in Phoenix, Atlanta and HOPEFULLY Sacramento next month also, and we’ll take the show back across the northern border to Toronto in August/September. If you get a second, you can check out and BOOKMARK the next one to blow —**hint hint…..it’s got a LITTLE something to do with the SB “Big Three” - www.summerbunnies.com/sb
To all of the fellas out there who are really handling their responsibilities and taking care of their children, I want to send a Happy Father’s Day to you. Keep doing what you do, and just know that you’ve gotten the best gift that anyone can give you already, quit tripping about the ugly neckties and do EVERYTHING you can to keep the beautiful ties you have with your kids.
PS - make sure you guys say HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to Lyric - yesterday was her big day and she partied like the rock star she is.
The purpose of having this blog has grown to far more reasons than the original intent, and now I can add “stress reliever” to the listing. I had outpatient surgery in 2008 for hernia removal, and for those of you out there who know, this situation is known to recur. Sad part about it all is that my hernia was stress related, and I just have the sneaking suspicion that it’s going to happen again………..not cool at all. Well, I received some medical advice years ago that I failed to adhere to fully, and that advice was simply to find means to relieve the stress. Everyone who gets to know the real me knows that I’m extremely focused and intense with things that I’m passionate about, and over the last few years I’ve become married to my work. I often wish I was just that freaky dude out there who just took pictures and assumed the label of “photographer” because I like seeing half naked women all day everyday (you know who you are as you read this….) . Unfortunately, that dude isn’t me -this is how I eat and pay the bills. Consequentially, it goes to heart a lot stronger than if it was just a hobby. That being said, when I run into the people out there who aspire get in the business but are really just faking the funk,” I’ve got to digest a lot of BS. I’ve tried to just let it roll off my back when I get all of these weird scenarios that take the simple things in life and complicate them, but I still find a high degree of difficulty in taking things lightly when my time is being jeopardized and wasted. I’m now dedicating at least one day a week in this blog to giving myself and the world my synopsis of the “Weekly Headscratcher”. This is for my health, as well as your reading pleasure. Ready?
Over the span of almost a year I’ve been in contact with a young woman that I’ll call Moregon….who had expressed interest in shooting with me, and I think it came about because of the calendar. If you haven’t figured it out, EVERYONE wants to be in the calendar, but they fail to realize that so much more pops off from just shooting for SummerBunnies, with or without the calendar, and they miss the opportunities that are there because of their choice of timing.
Back to Moregon. I sensed early on that I’d be in for a tussle of sorts when I could never get the hyperactivity down whenever we talked, and Moregon continued to tell me of all of her other shooting plans. She planned, and executed shoots all over the country…..all it seems, except for the most important shoot which would have been in Houston TX with SB. I could never get her on the phone for a tentative shoot in March - that is up until about 2 weeks outside of what was originally a tentatively planned shoot date, at which time I had booked a shoot in Chicago. She then tells me that she had ALREADY booked a flight to Houston (without actually confirming the date with me). Needless to say, we didn’t shoot. She INSTEAD proceeds to schedule travel all over the US, shooting who knows where with a couple more people, despite my advise on career and image preservation that MOST of the girls out there with a really good look just seem to not understand. When she finishes all of this travel and shooting…….actually all in between all of this shooting and traveling, she’s all the while “dangling the carrot” telling me she wants to shoot for the calendar, and get with me regarding her website, but never really taking the steps to do so. Miles and miles of fakeouts and unnecessary text and dialogues, we are now at the point that Moregon has now proceeded to pay for hosting on a website that has not yet even been built, enlisted a designer that I’ve not even heard of or spoken with, shot thousands of pictures, and made all of the most idiotic moves that I tried to help her not make.
I’m thoroughly convinced that there are people out there who just have a glutton for punishment. I won’t go into too many more details, but there is a small grocery list of added questionables that just leave me scratching my head about this one. I don’t exaggerate issues, I present them as they are. From your reading this, what would YOU do as this person continues to fake the funk about even shooting with SB? This young lady is so stubborn and headstrong (I’m refraining from using stronger words) that I wonder if there was ever head trauma in her past. At the end of the day, she’s going to have a lot of sh** online that will end up being pretty much uncompensated visuals, and she has spent either hers or a lot of other people’s money in the process. I’ve written a blueprint over the past 8 years, it’s tested tried and true, but for many people, it’s their way or no way at all. Good luck Moregon, you’re going to need it.
….except it’s TUESDAY on EVERY CALENDAR I LOOK AT.
This is nuts, I’m getting too old for this. Four cities in 7 days, and right now I don’t know if I’m coming or going. The upside to it all is that there is some intensity being brought your way as a result of all of this traveling. I GOT to say what’s up to my people in LA (Gary, Joe, Smoot TQ, Andre and Kelly, and all the new hot girls I met while in Hollywood at Cinaspace. The party was bananas..chaos…off the chain…..pandemonium…..check it out for yourself, and there are a couple of pix of yours truly up in these pieces”

What’s up to my NY people? We were there at the Sherry Netherland Hotel on Fifth Ave for about 22 hours before being off to Houston again and the touching down in Atlanta for a couple of days. The foundations we laid were solid, and I’m telling you now that we will have some NEW GA PEACH BUNNIES that will just make your mouth water! What’s up DJ J Nice? You ready son? It’s about to be ugly……in a very pretty way. Hey Caryn, Jay Chantaille and Jasmine - I’m ready for it, are you?
By the way, if you didn’t know it, there is a meteor shower about to hit, and the biggest chunk right now is coming by way of Miss Rabbit (www.akamissrabbit.com). People, don’t say I didn’t warn you, but you’re witnessing stardom being born. Mark my words. I told you Jess, I do more than shoot baby!
Okay, so back to the reality which is TUESDAY. … I’m on my way to the lab, got a couple sessions this week and next week we drop another bomb from North of the US border - it’s our year, we are OWNING 2008…..Aren’t you glad to be here??
Oh ‘ish, I forgot to mention….have you seen THIS beating down the block yet? Fri you ready?
In the past when I’ve gone “into the lab” I put in my most thorough work. I’ve been pretty figurative with that expression in the past, but this past weekend actually began what will be come the future of SB…….the lab has gotten much MUCH bigger. You’re about to witness something that has never been seen here on SummerBunnies before, it’s going to reinvent and revolutionize how we get down. I have a squad that is on board and ready to ride, and we are working our asses off to make sure that every ounce of intent is met and exceeded as far as our projections for this summer and beyond.
Off the subject, I got a chance to check out the new Iron Man flick while I was in San Antonio. Go check it out, I’m vouching that it’s an incredible action flick. I was a little skeptical before I went to the theater, but it was worth checking out and then some. The website is dope too - check it out at www.ironmanmovie.marvel.com . Tony Starks’ lab is fresh to death, I got work to do but gimme a minute.
Doing what I do for a living has been a blessing and a curse in so many ways. I have a totally different perception and outlook on my fellow man (and woman) than from when I was just a small town boy growing up in Lufkin Texas. I have amassed a list of haters that would rival any entertainer that expresses exactly the way they feel vs hiding behind a fake ass smile, and I have the uncanny distinction of having to break females down and tell them exactly why they should never think about showing their bodies in anything less than a long gown, (the aforementioned list is about 90% comprised of these such women). I am NOT a “Photographer,” I just happen to shoot what you demand to see in a method that is far more reaching than the average cat with a studio and some backdrops.
I’ve said it many times that if I were a photographer, my life would be simple and EVERYBODY would love me. Photographers get paid to take pictures, they are paid for their services. They can tell their subjects/clients anything that they want to hear in regard to their physical appearance, all in the interest of getting the check at the end of the session. I extend far beyond that job description. I am an Entertainer, I provide entertainment. I am obligated and compelled to be truthful and forthright with people that I deal with because this would be my expectation if I were in their shoes. Aside from that, the truth comes out eventually anyway, why prolong it? I deal with a lot of fake people, a lot of indecisive people, and I deal with a lot of liars. Yet as I sit here on my D.O.B. and really analyze it all, there aren’t too many other jobs I can think of that will be more gratifying in so many ways.
We are definitely in the lab with multiple projects, and typical to life in general these days, there is a LOT going on simultaneously. We’re making a difference as you sit and read this. I’m writing blogs on a regular to just help me keep track of the progression points, and to just help me connect with where I was in the midst of the chaos. I feel pretty good about today, it’s a choice I made when I got up. Yesterday was most interesting; I was given plenty of reason to mope and be all down about today, tomorrow and the future in general over the course of the last few days, but that’s not my style. I’m up very high in the saddle, it’s time to ride. Me and my crew are about to show you some things that you’ve been needing to see, so get ready.
Hollywood CA, get ready - May 25, 2008, we coming at ‘cha.
Jessica’s definitely on the fast track and she’s holding it down in the May 2008 Smooth Jamaica issue - she rocked the cover, and everyone’s going nuts about this one. Congratulations baby girl, you know we got you.
If you haven’t had the occasion, be sure to check her out at www.akamissrabbit.com - it’s so SERIOUS over there!
We’re welcoming Summer 2008 with open arms. We’re kicking things off with a bang in Hollywood California on May 25th at Club Cinespace (this joint is sexy). In collaboration with Blackout Entertainment we’re presenting a HUGE model search and photoshoot, so you’re going to be seeing a LOT of what the LA SummerBunnies collaboration is bringing real soon right here.
We about to turn Southern California all the way out and twist it back.
PS - To the MF’er who keeps bitching and crying to Myspace and getting the page removed, try taking THIS down……
I think I’m officially adopting this section of the site as my personal “business” state of affairs section……at least for today. I am constantly in awe of how many of you tell me that you look to this section on a regular basis, so I guess I have to get on my job just like the haters who keep staying on theirs. It’s pretty much the usual time of morning that I go into the deep mental psyche mode that compels me to commit the thoughts to written format, so here goes:
It’s been a fairly mellow week, just one photo shoot which was on Monday of this past week. Yes people, it is really true that I’m seldom behind the lens, it’s been that way for quite some time. I don’t know how the people that get up and do it every day all day can take it. Shooting is not really my business, it’s the byproduct of the shoot that fuels everything - now you should better understand my job role. It was a nice break to get the week off from shooting, particularly after the past few sessions. If you were a part of the April sessions, you pretty well know where you fall in regard to the positive to negative ratios. There were a lot of negatives this month, which further drain my battery. Bad hair, bad body build, total lack of wardrobe preparation, bringing parents to the set, etc. Yes, all of this in the grand month of April. Don’t get me wrong, there were two great sessions that you’ve not even been made privvy to (it’s top shelf stuff and it’s being preserved the RIGHT way - until it’s time comes) but trust me it’s going to be worth the wait to see them both. I digress.
Enough of the talk about the slow moving traffic, let me bring you up to speed:
This is the HOTTEST picture I’ve ever seen of Ms Juicci, and I DIDN’T SHOOT IT………..her website is going to be JUST AS HOT, it’s almost ready ( www.msjuicci.com )she’s got a HOT spread in the May 2008 Smooth magazine, along with fellow SB models Lisa Carvalho and
Jessica, who is coming up in the next issue of Smooth, so GET BOTH ISSUES, SummerBunnies are representing and you’re about to witness some great things real soon.
I’m sleepy now, and it’s not good to write when I’m falling out, I’m subject to spill ALL of the beans, that wouldn’t be good…..until next time folks.
We’ve had the same Myspace page for almost two years. That is, up until 4 days ago. Yep, I woke up and before I could even get the day going I had three messages on email which read pretty much the same: “What happened to your Myspace page?” The phone rang…..9 times it rang. It’s still ringing. The messages still keep coming. We had a pretty hot and pretty busy page - over 65,000 subscribers to be exact. Well, Myspace doesn’t really take any of that into account (and they are slow to respond to real messages on email). From what I’m told, they’ve got thresholds for “compliance” issues, and if enough people bark the same issue, it raises flags. Apparently one of the clusters of haters that are out there took a special interest in collectively pooling enough dissension to cause the page to be removed, without real merit.
Am I bitter? Hardly. We’ve gone so far as to reinstate the page with the exact same url as before:
( http://www.myspace.com/summerbunnies2002 ), but I’m very realistic that there are hundreds, thousands of people who will never find that page again. Is it a loss? I can’t say it isn’t, but it’s like I’ve constantly had to explain to people who seem to put their life into Myspace: Your myspace page is NOT your website - it’s MYSPACE’S WEBSITE. They just allow you to use it, so it should be called Myspacesmyspace.com to be properly labeled. The thing that really grates me is that they don’t really have proper checks and balances to do what they do when presented with situations like what happened with our page. There’s no way in hell that the page should have even been touched if they really reviewed what was going on. We don’t spam, we don’t post the REAL goods there, we used it just like it was intended, for networking. Well guess what? We’ll still keep networking, with or without Myspace, but I’d like to say to the moron who took it upon themself to cause this to occur, you’ve got a sad existence to do something like this, and I hope it was worthwhile for you.
I’m tired, it’s late, but get ready for a BIG update this week, we know you’re waiting on it - and it will be on the SITE, not MYSPACE ………….HAHAHAHAHA!
For the SERIOUS models who want to get on with the hottest website on the planet, be sure to send your photos, contact number and city to models@summerbunnies.com
